Appleby Golf Club

THURSDAY 16TH JULY 2026

Appleby Golf Club is a historic golf course founded in 1894, set on Brackenber Moor. It’s often described as an “inland links” course, having many characteristics of a coastal course - firm ground and natural contours. The course was influenced by Open Champion Willie Fernie and has developed a reputation as one of Cumbria’s hidden gems.

The 18-hole layout is built on free-draining sandstone, which helps keep the course playable all year round. Golfers can expect rolling fairways, heather, bracken, and excellent greens, along with panoramic views of the North Pennines, the Howgill Fells, and even parts of the Lake District.
